Hi, welcome to the new look Network site (which network who knows!). Any news of problems or things that are not working will be put here and/or on the front page.

As the site is still being built some parts are not working yet.
Most pictures for links are missing, watching threads doesn't fully work and a lot of javascript isn't made yet for the forms.

The forums are now working, apart from watching messages, no emails are sent at the moment.
the only things left are admin, some account stuff, watching threads and the email update.

Right so its now decided we are the Escape Network. Hopefully all the names have been updated to the new title. Think most parts of the site are working via a few admin things which i can't make till i remember how this thing works!

We also have a mailing list now which can be accessed here at this address: http://escape-network.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/mailing-list_escape-network.co.uk/
i might make that link a bit shorter sometime. Its a moderated mailing list so once you sign up you will need to be confirmed before you will get messages. To send a message to all the members send an email to: mailing-list@escape-network.co.uk.

If another mailing list is ever needed they are listed here: http://escape-network.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/ .

I got fed up with the last crappy picture uploader, so giving another one a go. Should be a bit more reliable although it doesn't pre-resize pictures before upload so make them smaller first. I've tested it on a selection of browsers and it seems to work, it is based on Flash so make sure you have that installed.

Currently the Max File Queue limit warning doesn't work, but there is a max of 60 files in one go.
It can take a while to load so wait a sec to see if the big blue warning will go.

Again, if there are any problems please let me know on the email bottom left with as many details as you can give.

Cheers,
See some of you at Pub Scouts!

Recent Update Info

This post will describe the changes when i get round to writing it, i broke stuff so this update was a bit unexpected!

The main update is the removal of those silly pop-up windows for logging in and other things. These have been totally replaced with so called "light-boxes" which don't get on my nerves as much.

The login system has changed, it now encrypts your passwords before sending them over the internet. Session checks have also been introduced which stop you being logged in at more than one location at once. The reason all your passwords have been reset is that they were one-way encrypted so with the new login system i couldn't decrypt and re-encrypt in the new format (the new method still uses 1 way encryption just in a different way).

The User Lists page has gone and been replaced by the User Tools page. This has 3 tabs with the original User List, a mass emailing page to send emails to certain groups and even the mailing list (you have to have the same email address registered for both the site and mailing list). The Add/Edit groups tab enables groups to be set up for example people attending a camp. Emails can then be sent to only these people avoiding people not attending getting extra emails. Emails can be sent to members of these groups either from the Mass Email tab or via a group-[keyword]@escape-network.co.uk. This feature can send failed messages even when it does work. If there is an error a message giving specific details will be sent back. At the moment attachments will not work, although these can be added to the documents page.

The calendar is also much better now, duplicate events can be added for multiple days and/or repeating every few weeks. Only one of an identical event is shown on the home page to avoid clutter.

If you find any problems on the site please let me know asap (email bottom left of every page)

Added a list or 'program' view to the calendar page. This shows all the future events in one long list. Its very much work in progress (slowly) any ideas let me know. (if anyone uses this and notices). A plain view is also available for easy printing.

In the future (if i can be arsed) i might make it list length of a more than 1 day events.

The photo uploader has now been updated. It should work with Flash 10 and it also gives more detailed error details. If there are any problems please let me know and also give all the error codes and details that it gives you.
