This page is basically here to give a bit of an overview about who we are and what we get up to really. We are the local Scout Network for the Leatherhead District area, covering Ashtead, Bookham, Effingham, Fetcham and Leatherhead. We are a part of the Surrey Scout County. As calling ourselves Leatherhead Network would be rubbish we have a nickname of 'Escape Network'. As a Network we meet on Wednesday evenings, every fortnight we go climbing at Surrey Uni climbing wall and on the alternate week we meet at various places and undertake a varied program. An example of what is coming up can been seen on the calendar page, you may need to sign up to see most events. Recently we have been trying to meet up with other District Networks from around the county, we met up with Loki (Guildford and Godalming) a while ago (pictures here). If you are another network from around the county (or anywhere else) and want to meet up email us on: richard(at)escape-network.co.uk. We also help out with various events happening around the district and county. As well as the weekly meetings we also partake in national Network camps, these are held throughout the year and are run by various Counties and Districts. The camps are not normal scout camps they normal take place over a weekend and involve activities and competitions throughout the day on Saturday, a themed party (with a BAR) on the Saturday evening and then other events/competitions on the Sunday morning. The camps section of the picture gallery shows some of our pictures of these events. Cost: We wanted to keep the fees as low as possible so the fees to the section are only £3. On top of this there is the cost of the HQ and County capitation of £27, although if you are a leader or helper in another section this will generally be paid for you by your group so all you will owe is £3. This fee includes the costs of running the section and your scarf, all that we ask is that you help out at a few fundraising events throughout the year so we can keep the costs low.
